During the week of July 23, 2018, to July 29, 2018 there were 157 calls for service, including the Whitney Detachment.



There were eighteen motor vehicle collisions, three were animal related.



There were three domestic dispute calls for service, and no domestic disputes resulting in criminal code charges.



Assault Charge

On Monday July 23, 2018 at approximately 2:16 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Jesse Kisters responded to an assault on John Street, Madawaska Valley Twp. As a result of police investigation, 62 yr. old Daniel SULLIVAN of Madawaska Valley Twp. was arrested and charged with Assault contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of Wednesday September 19, 2018 at 9:30 am, Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe.



Impaired Charges

On Saturday July 28, 2018 at approximately 7:54 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Ian Morin and Constable Glenn Yaraskavitch responded to a citizen complaint of a possible impaired driver on Bay Street, Madawaska Valley Twp. As a result of police investigation, 45 yr. old Peter RUMLESKIE of Madawaska Valley Twp. was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation and Over 80, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of Thursday August 30, 2018 at 9:00 am, Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke. The licence was seized and suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle towed.



Break and Enter

On Saturday July 28, 2018 at approximately 9:40 am, Whitney OPP Constable Brent Darraugh responded to a break and enter into a shed at a residence on Highway 523, South Algonquin Twp. Three chainsaws were reported stolen. This incident remains under investigation.







Collisions

On Thursday July 26, 2018 at approximately 9:52 am, Killaloe OPP Constable Glenn Yaraskavitch responded to a two vehicle collision involving two passenger cars on Highway 60, North Algona Wilberforce Twp. As a result of police investigation a 45 yr. old male from Golden Lake, has been charged with Follow Too Closely, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant was issued a Provincial Offence Act notice. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. No reported injuries.



On Thursday July 26, 2018 at approximately 11:24 am, Killaloe OPP Sgt. Mark MacKisoc and Constable Mike Holbrook responded to a single vehicle roll over collision involving a sport utility vehicle (SUV) on Kartuzy Road, Madawaska Valley Twp. The 78 yr. old male driver from Oshawa was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The 76 yr. old female passenger also from Oshawa was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. No charges laid. The vehicle was towed.



On Saturday July 28 2018, at approximately 7:43 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Glenn Yaraskavitch and Constable Mike Holbrook responded to single vehicle collision involving a moving truck hauling a trailer on Highway 60, South Algonquin Twp. The vehicle had swerved to avoid a collision with a moose and lost control. There were no reported injuries. The vehicle was towed.
