(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) - On August 2, 2018 at approximately 2:47 p.m., officers from the Prince Edward County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an impaired driver on Union Street in the town of Picton.
The driver, Paul Lewis FERGUSON, 70-years-old, of Prince Edward County was arrested and charged with:
Driving While Ability Impaired s. 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC); and with
Driving with more than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood s. 253(1)(b) of the CC.
The accused was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice at 67 King Street, Prince Edward County, Ontario on August 29, 2018.
The OPP received several calls regarding the driver's condition from the concerned public. Detachment Commander, Staff Sergeant John Hatch, stated that this is a great example of people doing the right thing, to keep our highways safe.
