(SOUTH HURON, ON) - Shortly before 6:00 p.m. on August 25, 2018, members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Lambton County OPP, and Lambton Emergency Medical Services responded to an address on Bluewater Highway in the Municipality of South Huron following reports of a male in distress in Lake Huron.
The male had been swimming with friends and family when he submerged. He was located unconscious and pulled to shore where efforts to resuscitate were unsuccessful.
Twenty-nine-year old Kane RODRICKS of Mississauga was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency responders.
A post-mortem examination has been scheduled for August 27, 2018.
