(ST. MARYS, ON) - Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Perth County detachment responded to a report of mischief on James Street South in the Town of St. Marys.
During the overnight hours of August 29, 2018, unknown suspects entered two pieces of heavy rail road machinery which had been parked on the rail tracks. Employees reported a significant amount of damage and theft upon their return to the area.
The locked property was forcibly entered and damaged. Hand tools, mixed tools and other items from the area work site were removed, and the total estimated value of stolen equipment is approximately $17,000.
Perth County OPP are asking for the assistance of the public with identifying the individuals responsible for these senseless acts.
