(MAPLETON TOWNSHIP, ON) - On Saturday, September 8, 2018 at approximately 9:15 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received numerous reports of a vehicle travelling northbound on Highway 6 at a high rate of speed as well as all over the road.
Police located the brown sedan at Highway 6 near Wellington Road 17 and observed it veer into the oncoming lane. Officers stopped the motor vehicle and while speaking with the male driver police formed the opinion that he was under the influence of alcohol. A Roadside Screening Test (ASD) was conducted which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.
41-year-old Jason ROUTLEDGE of Hamilton has been charged with Over 80 mgs contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on October 5, 2018.
