(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) - A successful canine track helped Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) make an arrest last night in relation to a break and enter case in Port Albert.
Shortly before 7:00 p.m. on October 10, 2018 Huron County OPP officers responded to a campground in Port Albert in relation to a break and enter to one of the trailers in the campground.
Upon arrival police discovered the suspect had damaged a door on one of the trailers and had been squatting inside the trailer. Police cleared the trailer however the suspect had since left the property. Believing the suspect was still in the area an OPP Canine Unit was called to the scene to assist with the investigation. Following a short canine track police located the male suspect inside another trailer at the campground. He was taken into custody without incident.
Duncan MACAULEY, 45 years of age from Ashfield-Colborne Wawanosh has been charged with two counts of Break and Enter and one count of Fail to Comply with a Recognizance of Bail. He was remanded into custody with a video court appearance scheduled for October 12, 2018 at the Ontario Court of Justice.
