(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH/ERAMOSA, ON) - On Wednesday October 31, 2018 at approximately 10:00 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Marden Road, north of Guelph. Reports indicated that a blue sedan was in the ditch and the driver was attempting to free the vehicle.
Officer attended and while speaking with the male driver, officers formed the opinion that he was under the influence of alcohol. A Roadside Screening test was conducted which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing. No one was injured in the crash.
30-year-old Kyle McGILLIVRAY or Guelph has been charged with Having Care and Control of a Vehicle with Over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood contrary to the Criminal Code. A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on November 30, 2018.
