(THAMES CENTRE, ON) - On November 23, 2018, at approximately 10:00 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) check in the Municipality of Thames Centre.
A motor vehicle was observed performing a U-turn before approaching the RIDE check. The vehicle was then observed entering a ditch. The male driver of the motor vehicle was arrested after a short foot pursuit.
The officers determined that the 56-year-old male, driver of the vehicle had consumed alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to a police station for further testing.
As a result of the police investigation, John PENTLAND, of Thames Centre, Ontario was charged with Driving While Ability Impaired and Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood, pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada (CC).
The accused is scheduled to appear in a London court room on January 9, 2019.
