(HURON EAST, ON) - Three young males and an adult remain in custody following an incident that took place just east of Seaforth late Monday night.
At approximately 10:20 p.m. on December 3, 2018 a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer came across a sports utility vehicle that was parked on the side of Huron Road (Highway 8) with its hazard lights activated. A check on the attached licence plate revealed the motor vehicle had been recently reported stolen from the City of London.
Upon making contact with the vehicle occupants they advised the officer they had run out of gas so they were waiting on another friend who had been in the vehicle with them to return with some gas. Moments later the young male returned to the scene with a jerry can of gas after getting dropped off by a Good Samaritan that had stopped to assist.
All four were ultimately arrested by police and taken into custody. Upon searching the young male that had returned with the gas he was found to be carrying a concealed loaded firearm.
