(GODERICH, ON) - Two males are facing criminal charges and a stolen shotgun has been recovered by police following an investigation by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
On Sunday, December 2, 2018 a victim in this matter attended a parking lot located on Parsons Court in Goderich to retrieve his vehicle. Upon arrival he immediately noticed a rear window of his vehicle had been smashed and his vehicle had been rummaged through. Upon inspecting his vehicle the victim noticed a .12 gauge shotgun had been stolen from his vehicle. Additionally, officers noted some other vehicles in the same parking lot had been broken into.
Officers commenced an investigation and the following night police received some information about the possible whereabouts of the stolen firearm. Shortly after 9:00 p.m. on Monday, December 3, 2018 officers attended a residence located on South Street in Goderich whereupon they located and seized the stolen shotgun. Additional investigation has resulted in police arresting and charging two males with possession of the stolen shotgun.
Ryan GREEN, 37 years of age from Goderich has been charged with:
Possession of a Firearm Obtained by Crime
Careless Storage of a Firearm
Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
Fail to Comply with Recognizance
Fail to Comply with Probation Order
He was scheduled to make a court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich on today's date.
A 17-year-old young male from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh has been charged with:
Possession of a Firearm Obtained by Crime
Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
He was also scheduled to make a bail court appearance today at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.
