(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) - On Friday November 30, 2018 at approximately 9:06 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting R.I.D.E. spotchecks on Wellington Road 124 at Winston Churchill Boulevard where they investigated the female driver of a grey sedan that entered into the checkpoint.
While speaking with the female, officers determined that she was under the influence of alcohol. A Roadside Screening Device Test (ASD) was conducted which resulted in a fail. She was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.
49-year-old Tracy PEARCE of Kitchener has been charged with Driving with Over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. She is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on January 4, 2019 to answer to her charge.
A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.
