(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) - On Sunday December 9, 2018, at approximately 1:00 a.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic on the Hanlon Expressway, Guelph. The officer observed a male driving a silver sedan at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at over 135 km/h, exceeding the posted speed limit by 55 km/h. The driver was also found to have cannabis readily available.
22-year-old Adrian Tyler Tre YOUNG of BRAMPTON has been charged with Racing a Motor Vehicle and Driving with Cannabis Readily Available. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Court on January 16, 2019. His driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
