(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) - On Friday December 21, 2018 at approximately 1:00 a.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single vehicle collision on Sideroad 10, north of Elora. Reports indicated that a possibly impaired driver was attempting to drive a green pickup out of the ditch and back on to the roadway.
Police attended and while speaking with the driver, formed the opinion that she was impaired by alcohol. She was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for testing. She had not suffered injuries in the crash.
23-year-old Leanne Agnes MORRISON of Fergus has been charged with Impaired Driving, Driving with a Blood Alcohol Concentration (B.A.C.) Over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100mL of Blood and Novice Driver with a B.A.C. above Zero. A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. She is scheduled to appear in Guelph Court on January 25, 2019.
