(HURON EAST, ON) - A 41-year-old from Stratford remains in custody on several criminal charges following an investigation conducted by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) a few weeks ago.
On December 22, 2018 Huron OPP members were at a Tile Road property when they came across a Dodge Ram pickup truck that had been reported stolen the night before in Perth East. A search was later conducted of the property and officers found a wanted male hiding in an implement shed. He was placed under arrest and a subsequent search of the male found evidence that connected him to being in possession of the stolen truck. Additionally, upon searching the stolen truck officers located and seized an unauthorized handgun and ammunition.
Michael VOCK, 41 years of age from Stratford was arrested and charged with the following offences:
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
Possession of a Prohibited Firearm
Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon
Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
Fail to Comply with Recognizance (2) counts
Fail to Comply with Probation Order (2) counts
He remains in custody with a video court appearance scheduled for January 18, 2019 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.
