(WEST PERTH, ON) - On April 3, 2019 at approximately 8:30 a.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Perth County detachment, Perth County Paramedic Services and West Perth Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle collision in West Perth.
A pickup truck travelling west on Frances Street collided with a tractor-trailer travelling north on Perth Road 164 (Highway 23) in Mitchell.
The female passenger of the pickup, Klazina Groenestege, 90 years-old, of the Municipality of West Perth was transported by air ambulance to a London hospital, but later succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the pickup truck remains in hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the transport was uninjured.
The investigation continues with the support of the OPP Traffic Technical Collision Investigators (TTCI).
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact the OPP.
