(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) - On Sunday June 2, 2019, at approximately 4:30 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a single vehicle collision on Sideroad 6 south of Mount Forest. Initial reports indicated that a driver had entered the ditch and suffered minor injuries.
OPP and Guelph-Wellington Paramedics Service responded. While speaking with the driver, officers formed the opinion that they were impaired by alcohol. The driver was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.
As a result of the investigation, Paul Anthony VILLENEUVE, 62-years-old of Mount Forest has been charged with Impaired Operation - 80 Plus (mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood). A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on July 5, 2019.
