(THAMES CENTRE, ON) - The Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a three vehicle collision on Hamilton Road between Putman Road and Breen Road around 6:20 p.m. on July 8, 2019.
At the time of the collision, an eastbound vehicle had crossed over into the westbound lanes on a curve. The eastbound vehicle clipped a westbound vehicle, then collided with a westbound motorcycle. The first vehicle struck sustained minor damage and the motorcycle sustained heavy damage.
London Middlesex Paramedics, along with Thames Centre Fire attended the scene of the collision. Paramedics transported the motorcycle driver to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the eastbound vehicle was also transported with minor injuries.
The motorcycle driver died as a result of his injuries and the driver of the eastbound vehicle has been arrested.
The OPP's technical collision investigators attended the scene to further the investigation.
21-year-old Kareem HUSSEINI has been charged with:
Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death
Impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing death
Over 80mg of alcohol causing death
Criminal negligence causing death
Fail to comply with recognizance
The accused was held for a bail hearing in London Criminal Court on today's date.
The deceased motorcycle driver has been identified as 40-year-old Andrew FERGUSON of Woodstock, Ontario.
