(MITCHELL, ON) - On July 23, 2019 at approximately 3:00 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) West Perth detachment responded to the report of a suspicious person at a business in Mitchell. The persons left the business prior to police arrival.
A short time later, the male and a female were observed by police and drove a motorcycle into a field to avoid police. The female was quickly arrested while attempting to flee. The male fled on foot.
Officers from the West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and West Region Canine assisted in the search for the male. He was not located.
The female was identified by police as having outstanding warrants in several jurisdictions.
Chantelle DAW, 25-years-old, of London was arrested and charged with:
Obstruct Peace Officer
Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
The female is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Stratford on September 16, 2019 to answer the charges.
The female was returned to London Police Service on their warrant.
