(MITCHELL, ON) - On August 17, 2019 at approximately 2:45 a.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), West Perth detachment were called by a concerned citizen about a male passed out behind the wheel of a motor vehicle with the motor running on Trafalgar Street in Mitchell.
OPP officers responded quickly and the driver was located. Officers determined that the driver's ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired. The driver was arrested and transported to the Sebringville OPP detachment for further testing.
William BROOKER, 32-years-old, of the Municipality of West Perth was arrested and charged with;
Operation while impaired - alcohol
Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Stratford on September 9, 2019 to answer the charges.
His driver's licence was seized and a 90 Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (ADLS) was imposed. The vehicle was towed and impounded.
