(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) - A 56-year-old from Stratford has been charged with Impaired Operation and Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 plus following a crash that took place last week in Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh.
On August 15, 2019 at approximately 6:52 p.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received information about a vehicle that had just left the roadway and went into the ditch on McGaw Road near CP Line. Within minutes officers responded to the scene and located a passenger van off the roadway in the ditch with the driver standing beside the vehicle.
Upon questioning the driver, police noted the accused had been drinking some alcohol and was displaying several signs of impairment. As a result, the driver was arrested for Impaired Operation and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. Both of his samples provided to the Intoxilizer Technician were found to be over the legal limit.
Kevin RICHARDS, 56 years of age, from Stratford has been charged with Impaired Operation & Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 Plus. He was later released from custody with a court date scheduled for September 16, 2019 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich. His vehicle was impounded and his licence has been suspended for an automatic 90 days.
