(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH-ERAMOSA, ON) - On August 25, 2019 at approximately 2:10 a.m. a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the driver of a motor vehicle that was observed leaving residence on the 5th Line of West Garafraxa Township. Officers had received several noise complaints coming from a house party and were patrolling the area.
While speaking with the driver, officers formed the opinion that the operator of the sedan was under the influence of alcohol. A Roadside Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail. The driver was arrested and brought to a local OPP operations centre for further testing.
Kirk JENSEN, 55-years-old of Centre Wellington Township has been charged with Impaired Operation - 80 Plus contrary to the Criminal Code. A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear in Guelph Court on September 24, 2019 to answer to the charge.
