(SOUTH HURON, ON) - A 46-year-old from Bluewater has been charged with Operation While Impaired & Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 plus following a traffic stop conducted by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) this past weekend in Exeter.
On September 20, 2019 at approximately 8:00 p.m. a Huron OPP officer observed a car travelling southbound on Main Street at a high rate of speed. The officer followed the speeding car a short distance before the driver pulled over and came to a stop.
The investigating officer spoke with the vehicle driver and upon doing so immediately noticed the driver had consumed some alcohol. Further observations were made of the driver and it became the belief of the investigating officer that the driver was impaired by alcohol. As such, the driver was placed under arrest for Impaired Operation. He was then transported to the Exeter OPP Detachment for breath tests. Both of his samples provided to the Intoxilizer Technician were found to be over the legal limit.
Brian ROCK, 46 years of age, from Zurich has been charged with Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 Plus & Operation While Impaired. He was later released from custody with a court date scheduled for October 31, 2019 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Exeter. His vehicle was impounded and his licence has been suspended for an automatic 90 days.
