(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) - Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh resident with Dangerous Driving and Impaired Operation following a crash that took place at the start of the summer.
The charges laid against the driver are in connection with a single motor vehicle crash that took place just after 7:00 p.m. on June 27, 2019 at the intersection of Kintail Line and Zion Road.
Upon arrival at the scene emergency responders located a four-door sedan that went airborne, rolled and came to rest off the roadway. The lone occupant sustained injuries from the crash and was airlifted to hospital in London for treatment.
While at the scene police had reason to believe the driver may have been impaired by alcohol at the time of the crash. Additionally, investigators were able to determine the involved vehicle was travelling at a speed well in excess of the 60 km/h speed limit.
As a result of the investigative findings police arrested and charged the accused on September 25, 2019. Michael DALTON, 28 years of age, from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh has been charged with Operation While Impaired, Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus and Dangerous Operation.
