(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) - On September 30, 2019, at approximately 9:50 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic and conducting radar on Wellington Road 109 near Side Road 16 in the Township of Wellington North. The officer observed a blue sedan travelling eastbound at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 150 km/h.
Cannabis was also located readily available to the driver.
Andrew Lloyd DOUPE, 32-years-old of Palmerston been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and Have Care or Control of Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available contrary to the Cannabis Control Act. The accused is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial Offences Court on December 18, 2019. The driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
