(GODERICH, ON) - Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested a pair with drug possession charges following an occurrence that took place in Goderich over the weekend.
On October 5, 2019 at approximately 6:45 p.m. Huron OPP officers had reason to check on a motor vehicle that was parked at the Bennett Street apartments. Upon checking on the vehicle and its three occupants investigators searched them and the vehicle.
The owner of the vehicle was found to be in possession of a shot gun shell which was a violation of a court ordered prohibition that prohibited him from the possession of firearms and ammunition. In addition, officers found him to be in possession of suspected purple Fentanyl.
Joshua MAVER, 37 years of age from Exeter has been charged with two counts of Possess Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order and Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Fentanyl. The accused has since been released from custody with a court date scheduled for November 25, 2019 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.
A further search found a passenger in possession of in possession of Methylphenidate a Schedule III drug. Josi SCRUTON, 28 years of age from Goderich has been charged with Possession of a Schedule III Substance. The accused has since been released from custody with a court date scheduled for November 25, 2019 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.
