(MILLBANK, ON) - On October 19, 2019, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Perth County Detachment responded to a report of election signs being damaged in the area of Millbank. A concerned citizen contacted police after viewing a social media post of someone driving over a sign.
Through investigation, the motor vehicle and driver were identified.
Abram GUENTHER, 22-years-old, of North Perth was arrested and charged with;
Mischief Under $ 5,000
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Stratford on December 9, 2019 to answer the charge.
The OPP continue to investigate and want to remind citizens that you can be charged with a Criminal Code offence of Mischief for damaging property like an election sign.
Anyone that is convicted of Mischief can face a fine imposed by the court or imprisonment up to 2 years.
