(TOWNSHIP OF MAPLETON, ON) - On October 27, 2019, at approximately 3:30 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a possible drunk-driver on Wellington Road 7 north of the village of Alma. It was reported that a driver of a gold Sport Utility Vehicle was driving erratically.
Police attended and located the driver. Officers formed the opinion that the driver was impaired by alcohol. The driver was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.
As a result of the investigation, Jeremy Shane FERRIS, 45-years-old of Milton, has been charged with Impaired Operation and Impaired Operation 80 Plus (mg of alcohol per 100 mL of blood). A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelphac on November 26, 2019.
