(NORTH HURON, ON) - Officers from the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment remain on scene of a two-vehicle collision that occurred earlier this afternoon in Blyth.
At approximately 2:20 p.m. (05Dec) Huron County OPP, North Huron Fire Department and Huron County Paramedic Services responded to the crash scene located on Blyth Road (Huron County Road #25) and London Road (Huron County Road #4).
The preliminary investigation has revealed a compact vehicle was travelling westbound on Blyth Road when it entered into the intersection and was struck by a delivery truck that was travelling northbound on London Road.
The driver and lone occupant of the compact has been airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the commercial delivery truck was uninjured.
Members from the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management & Enforcement (TIME) Team are en-route to the scene to assist with the collision investigation.
Blyth Road at London Road will remain closed for the collision investigation. Please take an alternate route to avoid delays.
Please respect the road closure signs in place. Should you decide to drive around the road closed signs you may face a charge of Drive on Closed Roadway under the Highway Traffic Act. This charge has a fine of $110 and three demerit points upon conviction.
