(MORRIS-TURNBERRY, ON) - A 22-year-old from Wroxeter will be making a trip to court in January to answer to an 80 Plus charge he is facing following an investigation by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
On December 2, 2019 at approximately 9:30 p.m. Huron County OPP received a call from a witness that came across a vehicle that was in the ditch on Brussels Line north of Amberley Road.
Officers responded to the scene approximately 30 minutes later where they now found an unoccupied compact car in the ditch. A few minutes later the driver returned with a tow truck driver to get his vehicle from the ditch. Upon speaking with the male driver officers suspected the male had been drinking some alcohol. As such, a roadside test was conducted and the driver registered a fail.
He was arrested and transported to the Listowel OPP Detachment where he provided two samples of his breath to the intoxilizer technician. Both of his tests were analyzed to be above the legal limit.
Andrew PATTON, 22 years of age from Wroxeter has been charged with Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 Plus. He was also served with a 90-day driver's licence suspension and his vehicle was impounded. He has been released from custody with a court date scheduled for January 27, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.
