(TOWN OF ERIN, ON) - On January 1, 2020, at approximately 10:05 a.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a vehicle in the ditch with a possible impaired driver on Sandalwood Crescent in Ballinafad.
Officers arrived at the scene and while speaking with the driver determined that their ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to a local OPP Operation Centre for further testing.
Tyler REID, 27-years-old of Guelph, has been charged with Impaired Operation and Impaired Operation - 80 Plus (mg of alcohol per 100 mL of blood) contrary to the Criminal Code. A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice - Guelph on February 7, 2020.
