(LAMBTON/MIDDLESEX, ON) - On January 3, 2020, Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), with the assistance of Middlesex OPP, located a stolen motor vehicle from the Town of Petrolia.
At approximately 7:30 p.m., Lambton County OPP were contacted regarding a stolen vehicle from the Town of Petrolia. While investigating this incident, Lambton OPP then received a report of a gasoline theft, with the vehicle description matching that of the stolen pickup truck.
At 8:51 p.m., Middlesex County OPP located the vehicle and arrested the driver and passenger without incident. At the time of arrest, the driver gave a false name and was later identified by Lambton OPP officers. Two police cruisers sustained minor damage. There were no injuries.
A 16-year-old youth of Petrolia, was arrested and charged with:
Theft of Motor Vehicle.
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000.
Obstruct Peace Officer.
Break and Enter.
Theft Under $5,000.
Fail to Comply with Recognizance (three counts).
Failure to comply with Judicial Release pursuant to the Youth Criminal Justice Act (three counts).
A 13-year-old of Petrolia was also arrested and charged with Theft of a Motor Vehicle and Theft Under $5000, pursuant to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
