(HURON EAST, ON) - A traffic stop this past weekend in Seaforth has resulted in a criminal charge of "Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus" against a Huron East resident.
Shortly before 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2020 a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a sedan on Main Street North in Seaforth to check the sobriety and licence status of the driver.
Upon speaking with the driver the investigating officer noted the driver had consumed some alcohol. A roadside screening test was conducted and the driver registered a fail.
He was placed under arrest and was transported to the Exeter OPP Detachment for breath tests. Both of his samples provided to the Intoxilizer Technician were found to be over the legal limit.
Jeffery JANTZI, 37 years of age, from Huron East has been charged with Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 Plus. He was later released from custody with a court date scheduled for February 24, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich. His vehicle was impounded and his licence has been suspended for an automatic 90 days.
