(MORRIS-TURNBERRY, ON) - A Wingham resident is facing charges after he was caught driving when he shouldn't have been.
On January 22, 2020 at approximately 4:43 p.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was patrolling on Amberley Road when he observed a pickup truck travelling eastbound. Upon closer examination the driver was recognized by the officer and it was known to him the driver was currently prohibited. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver was spoken to. Subsequent checks on the driver confirmed he was currently prohibited from driving, as well he was currently on release conditions to not have care or control of a motor vehicle.
Consequently, Hendrik BLOM, 34 years of age from Wingham was arrested and charged. He has been charged with Operation While Prohibited and Failure to Comply with an Undertaking. He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for February 10, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.
