(SOUTH HURON, ON) - A young driver from South Huron has been charged with Impaired Operation following a traffic stop that took place last week near Huron Park.
On Friday, February 14, 2020 at approximately 12:10 a.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a suspected impaired driver on Airport Line near Crediton Road. Officers from both the Middlesex OPP Detachment and Huron OPP Detachment had been patrolling for the suspect vehicle after receiving a call from a member of the public about the driver.
Upon stopping the suspect vehicle the investigating officer spoke with the driver and noticed several signs of impairment through alcohol. The driver was arrested for Impaired Operation and was subsequently transported back to the detachment for breath tests.
He later provided two samples of his breath to the intoxilizer technician and both of his results were analyzed to be above the legal limit.
Christopher HOHNER, 19 years of age from South Huron has been charged with Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 Plus and Operation While Impaired. He was also served with a 90-day driver's licence suspension and his vehicle was impounded. He has been released from custody with a court date scheduled for March 26, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Exeter.
