(GODERICH, ON) - Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Goderich resident with a variety of criminal offences after police responded to a disturb the peace call in Goderich earlier in March.
Just before 9:00 a.m. on March 21, 2020 Huron OPP officers responded to a Widder Street residence after receiving a call about a male that was observed yelling and shouting at neighbours and demonstrating some all-around unusual behaviour.
Officers responded and spoke with the intoxicated male and cautioned him to return inside the residence. Unbeknownst to the officers upon leaving the scene the accused retrieved an air rifle and pointed it at the officers as they drove away. Further, the accused was observed recklessly pointing the firearm at several neighbouring homes.
Police were called back to the scene and this time the male was placed under arrest and taken into custody.
Kurtis GREEN, 28 years of age from Goderich has been charged with the following offences:
Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
Assault a Peace Officer With a Weapon
Assault With a Weapon
Disturbing the Peace
Mischief Under $5,000
Fail to Comply with Probation Order - 2 counts
He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for June 1, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.
