(WEST PERTH, ON) - Shortly after 3:00 a.m. on April 3 2020, a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer on general patrol observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed. The officer stopped the driver on Sawmill Road, near Perth Road 180.
It was determined that there was a warrant for the arrest of the driver, and that he was currently suspended from driving.
The driver, a 50 year old male from Perth East, was arrested on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing. He was also charged with driving while under suspension, and a seven day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
