(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) - On May 1, 2020, at approximately 4:15 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Services and Centre Wellington Fire and Rescue responded to a serious motor vehicle collision involving two motorcycles and a pick-up truck on Wellington Road 19 at the Sixth Line of Centre Wellington Township.
Investigation revealed that two motorcycles were travelling eastbound followed by an eastbound pick-up truck when the collision occurred.
John BOTT, 65-years-old of Nichol Township was operating one of the motorcycles involved in the collision. He was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced deceased.
A female motorcycle operator was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries and later released. The driver of the pick-up truck was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries and later released.
The Wellington County OPP along with West Region OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) continue to investigate the collision.
