(CENTRAL HURON, ON) - Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Clinton resident with Impaired Operation and Driving with a Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) Over 80 after an arrest was made by police last night in Clinton.
Shortly after 6:00 p.m. on May 28, 2020 Huron OPP officers were called to a restaurant located on Huron Street in Clinton to check on a possible impaired driver that was observed in a parked vehicle.
Minutes later an officer arrived and located the driver waiting in her vehicle. Upon speaking with the driver the investigating officer detected the odour of alcohol and also observed signs of impairment.
The driver was placed under arrest for Impaired Operation and was transported to the
Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. Two samples of her breath were provided to the intoxilizer technician and both samples were analyzed to be over the legal limit.
Angela MAIZE, 43 years of age, from Clinton has been charged with Operation While Impaired & Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus. The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for August 3, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich. Her motor vehicle was impounded and her driver's licence has been suspended for an automatic 90 days.
