(GODERICH, ON) - An Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh resident is facing charges of Impaired Driving & Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus following a crash that took place last week in Goderich.
On Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at approximately 8:30 p.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a restaurant drive-thru in Goderich after learning a collision had just taken place.
An OPP officer arrived on scene and spoke with both drivers involved in the collision. The investigating officer learned the accused was in the drive-thru line when he rear-ended the vehicle in front.
Upon speaking with the accused the officer observed signs of impairment through alcohol thus the driver was placed under arrest for Impaired Operation.
The accused was transported to the Huron OPP detachment where he provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician; both samples of breath were analyzed to be over the legal limit.
Bobby O'Neil, 25 years of age, from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh has been charged with Operation While Impaired & Impaired Operation - Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus. He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for October 26, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.
