(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) - A Komoka resident is facing four criminal charges following a single motor vehicle crash investigated by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) this past weekend.
At approximately 12:51 p.m. on Sunday, September 6, 2020 Huron County OPP arrived at the crash scene located on Bluewater Highway (Highway 21) north of Blyth Road. Upon arrival officers located a heavily damaged hatchback and a damaged wooden fence. The driver of the hatchback was travelling southbound on Bluewater Highway when he lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle crossed the center line, left the roadway, took out a wooden fence and ultimately came to rest beyond the east ditch.
The investigating officer had reason to conduct a roadside screening test and upon doing so the driver registered a Fail. He was placed under arrest and was subsequently transported to the Huron Detachment for breath tests. Both tests were analyzed to be over the legal limit.
Upon further investigation police learned the accused was on court conditions to have no contact with a passenger in the vehicle. As well he was on court conditions to abstain from alcohol.
