(POINT EDWARD, ON) – Driver arrested at the Bluewater Bridge, Village of Point Edward, ON after making a wrong turn entering Canada.
On Monday May 6, 2024, at approximately 1:25 a.m., uniform members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were requested to attend Bluewater Bridge, Canada Border Services Agency, regarding a possible impaired driver.
A resident of the United States made a wrong turn and mistakenly entered Canada. Upon speaking with Border Service Officers, it was suspected that the driver of the motor vehicle had consumed alcoholic beverages. A roadside screening device was administered. The driver was arrested and transported to the Lambton OPP – Petrolia Detachment for breath testing which resulted in readings over twice the legal limit.
Keith OZBUN, 34-year-old from Harrison Township, Michigan has been charged with the following:
Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus),
Operation While Impaired – Alcohol.
The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice-Sarnia at a later date.
