A Guelph man faces assault and weapons charges after a woman was assaulted during a dispute over a hidden camera.
Last Thursday, the Guelph Police Service was informed of an assault which had taken place in a residence on Speedvale Avenue West. A woman reported she had been staying with an acquaintance for a few days when she noticed a camera in the room where she was changing her clothes.
She confronted the homeowner. A physical confrontation ensued, during which she was struck several times with a bat and had her phone broken. The victim was transported to hospital for treatment of injuries including a broken hand.
A 46-year-old Guelph man is charged with assault causing bodily harm, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, mischief and voyeurism. He was held for a bail hearing Monday.
Co-worker sexually assaulted
A Guelph man was fired and arrested after a co-worker reported being repeatedly sexually assaulted Friday.
Saturday afternoon, an adult female called police to report the assaults. On Friday afternoon she was working at a local manufacturing plant when a male co-worker repeatedly touched and tried to kiss her. He also forced her to sit back down in her chair when she tried to get away from him. She reported the assaults to her supervisor and the male was immediately terminated.
A 39-year-old Guelph man is charged with sexual assault and forcible confinement. He will appear in court June 14.
