(DRYDEN, ON) – An investigation led by the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with assistance from the Sioux Lookout OPP CSCU and the Dryden OPP detachment, has led to charges against a Dryden resident.
On June 5, 2024, just before 3:00 p.m., a bicyclist was stopped on King Street in the City of Dryden. Through investigation, officers seized suspected illicit substances including cocaine and methamphetamine.
As a result, Joey ROY, 49-years old, faces charges under the Criminal Code and Controlled and Drugs Substance Act. The accused has been arrested and charged with:
· Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
· Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Methamphetamine
· Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
The accused has been remanded into custody at the Kenora District Jail and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
