(OTTAWA, ON) Members of the Ottawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid several charges against an individual from the Ottawa area after they were stopped while operating an E-Bike on Highway 417.
On June 10, 2024, shortly after 5:00 p.m., an Ottawa OPP member observed the accused operating an E-Bike on Highway 417 in Ottawas east end. The driver was stopped by officers and it was determined that they were impaired by alcohol.
Serguei PETROV, aged 41 of Ottawa, faces the following Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act Charges:
Operation While Impaired Alcohol and Drugs
Operation While Impaired Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
Operation While Prohibited
Motorcycle Driven by Electricity on Controlled-Access Highway
Driving While Under Suspension
Petrov also received a 90-day driving prohibition and his vehicle was impounded for 45 days.
Petrov is set to appear in an Ontario Court of Justice on July 5, 2024.
