(OTTAWA, ON) Members of the Ottawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid impaired driving charges against an individual from Renfrew after they were involved in a fail to remain collision.
Shortly before 8:00 p.m. on July 31, OPP officers received information from Ottawa Police Service (OPS) about a possible impaired driver that they were attempting to locate. The vehicle had been described as a black BMW X3. A short time after, a vehicle matching that description was involved in a collision on Highway 417 near Woodroffe Ave. The vehicle fled the scene, but was located a short time later at a residence by OPP. The driver registered more than three times the legal limit and was found with open alcohol in the vehicle.
Murray QUATTROCCHI, 56 years of age, was charged with:
Operation While Impaired Alcohol and Drugs
Operation While Impaired Blood Concentration (80 plus)
Fail to Remain
Driving Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor
Quattrocchi received an immediate 90-Day driving suspension and his vehicle was impounded for seven days. Quatrrocchi was released on an Undertaking and is set to appear in Provincial Court on September 6, 2024.
