(Jellicoe, ON) Traffic complaint on Highway 11 near Jellicoe has resulted in one driver from Thunder Bay charged with impaired driving.
On August 3, 2024, at approximately 1:41 p.m., members of the Greenstone Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment received a traffic complaint about a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Highway 11. Officers observed the vehicle travelling at 199 Km/Hr. Officers located the vehicle and through investigation, determined the driver of the vehicle to be impaired by alcohol and drug.
The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Greenstone OPP Detachment for further testing.
As a result, Stefan POMINVILLE, 38-year-old of Thunder Bay, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act with:
Operation while Impaired Alcohol and Drugs
Dangerous Operation
Drive motor vehicle Perform Stunt Excessive Speed
Obstruct Plate
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Geraldton on September 19, 2024.
