(Inverary, ON) A driver was arrested for impaired driving, as a result, of multiple traffic complaints from citizens and a minor single vehicle collision.
On August 22, 2024, just after 6:00 pm, OPP officers from the Frontenac Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint from a citizen in South Frontenac Township. A black Lexus SUV had pulled over to the side of Burnt Hills Road after striking a mailbox, near a residence. The driver left the scene with a flat tire and continued on. A second traffic complaint from a citizen placed the damaged vehicle on Round Lake Road a short time later.
The Frontenac officers patrolled for the vehicle and located the individual parked at a business in Inverary, attempting to change the blown tire. Officers spoke with the driver and determined they had been driving. As a result, the driver was arrested and transported to detachment for further testing.
Liam Horton, age 29 of Etobicoke, was charged with:
operation while impaired alcohol and drugs.
The driver was released from custody and is to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston on October 08, 2024. They also had their drivers license suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for a period of 7 days.
