(MORRIS-TURNBERRY TWP, ON) Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Grey-Highlands resident with Impaired driving offences following a traffic complaint in the Township of Morris-Turnberry on August 16, 2024.
Just before 9:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16, 2024, Huron County OPP were requested by Huron County Paramedic Services to attend a location on Glennanon Road in Morris-Turnberry regarding an unresponsive driver at the side of the road. Police spoke to the driver and determined that the drivers ability to operate the motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.
The driver was checked by paramedics then arrested for impaired operation at which time the driver resisted arrest. The accused was controlled by officers and safely secured in the police vehicle. The accused was transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton where they provided breath samples before a qualified Intoxilyzer Breath Technician. Breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over three times the legal limit.
Isaac ARMSTRONG, 37 years of age from Grey-Highlands has been charged with:
Operation while Impaired alcohol and drugs,
Operation while Impaired Over 80,
Resist Peace Officer.
The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused drivers license was suspended for a period of 90 days.
The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice Goderich on September 23, 2024.
