(DRUMMOND-NORTH ELMSLEY, ON) The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a head-on collision which left one person deceased.
The collision, involving a pick-up truck and an SUV, happened on Tuesday, August 26, 2024, around 1:45 p.m. on Highway-7 at Gardiner Road, between Perth and Innisville.
Despite life-saving efforts by Lanark County Paramedics, the driver of the SUV was pronounced deceased at the scene. The deceased is a 77-year-old woman from Ottawa. The other driver, a 49-year-old man from Mississippi Mills Township, had no serious injuries. Each was alone in their vehicle.
The highway was closed in the area until late last night to allow for a thorough investigation by OPP Collision Reconstructionists and Technical Collision Investigators.
