(WEST NIPISSING, ON) Police arrested and charged a driver with impaired driving after investigating a traffic hazard.
On August 30, 2024, at approximately 12:58 a.m., the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic hazard blocking the roadway on Pine Street, West Nipissing.
Police located a low-speed mobile scooter stationary in the middle of the road. The operator was arrested for impaired driving and then transported to the OPP detachment for further testing.
As a result of the investigation, Francis LANDRY, 95 years-of-age, from West Nipissing, was charged with, operation while impaired alcohol
The accused was release and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on October 3, 2024, in North Bay.
The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension.
